 Funeral services were held in Tolstoy recently for Mrs. Fredericka Trefz, 83, pioneer Tolstoy resident who died in the Hoven hospital on November 7. Mrs. Trefz nee Jacober was born in Gluecksthal, South Russia in 1860 and was married in 1885 to John Trefz coming that same year to America, living near Menno for a year before making their home on a farm near Tolstoy. She and her husband moved to Tolstoy in 1920, where he passed away in 1926. Two sons and two daughters survive.
