Christ Sandmeier Is Victim Of Heart Attack

Funeral services were held Friday for Christ
Sandmeier, 63, at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Bowdle with Rev. Theo Judt
officiating. Mr. Sandmeier dropped over suddenly on Monday, April 29, while
talking to friends at the depot at Bowdle.
He was born November 22, 1883 in Glueckstal,
South Russia, where he was baptized and confirmed. He came to America in
1903, settling on a farm northwest of Bowdle. On November 24, 1910 he was
married to Maria Schick in Java, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Kirchdoerfer.
In 1943, he retired from farming because of a heart ailment and moved to
Bowdle.
He is survived by his wife: one son,
Theodore, living on the home farm; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Schauer
of Roscoe, Mrs. Marie Schmeirer of near Java, and Mrs. Rosina Hoffman of
Richey, Mont.; and four brothers, Fred, Daniel, Philip and Joe Sandmeier
of Bowdle. (copied as written)
