Mr. Charles Trelease of Bridgewater

IF it were true that the greater part of the best Christian service rendered to the denomination is done by those whose names are most familiar to us at Conference, then it is difficult to justify the inclusion of some in this volume. Since, however, it is admitted that a number of the best friends of' the denomination rarely appear at Conference, but render excellent service in the circuits, the justification for their appearance in this volume is evident.

Mr. Charles Trelease, who was born at Pensilva, in the Liskeard Circuit, on July 31st, 1857, early in life became a decided Christian. When only ten years of age he became conscious of his love to the Saviour, and this love soon found an outlet, in earnest service. He became a Sunday school teacher, and secretary of the band of hope. Having spent some time at Exeter,

Herodsfoot, and Taunton, he came to Bridgwater in June, 1891. Here he has taken a most active interest in the church, and has been one of its most liberal supporters. A loyal member of the denomination, he has shown true affection for the little struggling church at Bridgwater, and this has won for him an excellent reputation. His home is a quiet resting-place for ministers of the denomination, and his hospitality is as continuous as the sun, and never fails. In this beneficent work he is assisted by his excellent wife - a daughter of Mr. John Greet, of Herodsfoot, one of the veterans of the Connexion, and a local preacher of more than sixty-three years' standing.

Mr. and Mrs. Trelease are members of families who are rendering the denomination praiseworthy service in Herodsfoot,
