(a) The family tree lettering system distinguishes between the various sections of the BURGUM (or BURGHAM) family trees.
(It was created many years ago when I first began my research). The various family trees are designated "AA", "BB", "DD", etc.
There is no "CC" family tree, for example, because it was found to connect to the larger "FF" family tree.

(b) the JJ family tree mainly consists of the descendants of John Burgum, the artist, who emigrated from England to New England in 1850.
