Debt of Honour Register

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has a "Debt of Honour Register" which provides personal and service details and places of commemoration for the 1.7 million members of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First or Second World Wars. Engineer Officer, M.V. Chinese Prince (London), Merchant Navy
Who died on Thursday 12th June 1941. Age 45.
Son of Samuel and Miriam Burgum, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Husband of Edith Louise (Milton) Burgum of Littlemore, Oxfordshire
Whose name appears on the Tower Hill Memorial (Panel 28), in London
Commemorating men of the Merchant navy who have no known grave.
(Alfred was born in 1896 at Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire, and is part of the
AA family tree. My records show his mother's name was Susan Mary Anne Perrin and not Miriam. His children Michael Burgum, Graham Burgum, Peter Burgum and Elain Denty are all members of the Burgum Family History Society)

Josiah Burgum
Serjeant (sic), 1843, Machine Gun Corps (Motors) attd. 1st/2nd King's African Rifles
who died on Wednesday 17th October 1917. Age 21
Son of John Dean Burgum and Mary Burgum
Of 79 Lorne Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, England.
He is buried at the Dar Es Salaam War Cemetery, in Tanzania.
(Josiah is part of the HH family tree and his niece Kathy Burgum is a member of the Burgum Family History Society).
