Coming to America (page 2) Noech, Rivka, Velvel and Jankel Bezbrozh Come to America On Saturday, June 10th, 1922, Noech Bezbrozh, 62, Rivka Bezbrozh, 61, and two of their seven sons, Velvel, 16, and Jankel, 13, arrive aboard the S.S. Lapland from Antwerp. |
The Lapland was rather luxurious ship and has a special place in history as one of the ships that took the survivors of the Titanic back to England in 1912. Noech, Rivka, Velvel and Jankel changed their names to Nathan, Rivka, William and Jack Bernstein. They declared that they were coming to stay with Morris Bernstein, Noech's son.
