LOOKUPS
Please remember, if you request a lookup make it specific. Don't ask for "all the SMITH's in NY" or "My GFather is my brick wall - can you see if he is mentioned on the CD's you have?"
The Newbians who are on this page are just as busy as you, but have offered their time and resources to help you. They are under no obligation to you, so don't hassle them if you think they're not addressing your query quickly enough.
If you wish to add your own resources and time to this 'help' project, please send details to me by clicking here.

Volume 9 Indian Creek Twp., Maxwell, Iowa
Over the last year or so I have been involved in the transcription
of the NZ Army Embarkation Records and Reserve Lists. The CD has
just come to hand and it contains 282,000 entries, from a population at
the time of approx 1,000,000, basically all males between 17 and 45.
Of these about 110,000 went overseas of which approx 18,000 were killed
and 43,000 wounded.
I checked 23 known eligible descendants of my 2gr gparents
and found them all so it is very comprehensive.
I can look up almost anything in the Hawaii State Library and the Hawaii State Archives-- some of the source documents are
1. Obituary notices published in the Honolulu Star
Bulletin and Honolulu Advertiser beginning in 1927 (I believe)
2. News articles from these same newspapers.
3. Marriage Index (by groom) from about 1909 to
1940
4. Death Index, 1909-1940
5. Passenger arrivals from Japan, some from China,
and also some from
Portugal, late 1800's and early 1900's.
In each case, I need to know the complete name and an approximate time frame to look up.
Aloha
