George Benedict, Sr.

• Born about 1518, at Tasborough (Tasboro, now Tasburgh), Norfolk, England;
• George married, about 1544, Jane (--?--), widow of John Hales, by whom she had John and    Jane Hales;   she was born probably about 1518 to 1522;  Jane died about 15 June 1578 at    Hapton, Norfolk, England. Her will is dated 11 June 1578 and was proved at Hapton on 18    June 1578. (See below: the link to Map of Norfolk for the location of village Hales, a possible    place of origin for Jane Hales's first husband's family, and perhaps her own.)
• he died in Jan 1575/6, at Tasborough and was buried 26 Jan 1575/76 at Tasborough.
• George's will was probated 27 Jan 1576/77 at Norwich, Norfolk.

   4. Elizabeth, b. abt 1553; m. 18 Sept 1569, Ralphe Lullman (location unknown). His will written        18 October 1584, leaving money for the education of his four children, one unborn.

   5. William, b. abt 1557; m. abt 1585, Judith Marsh; d. Oct 1614, Bourne, Cambridgeshire;
       bur. 4 Oct 1614. His will dated 1 Sep 1614 was proved 19 Oct 1614.
        Child (birthplace unknown):
           a. Anne Benedict, b. abt 1590; m. between 1612 and 1614, Robert Hagar. She is named                in the will, dated 13 July 1610 at Wingerworth, Derby, of Henry Hunlock, her step-                grandfather who calls her "daughter." This led to 350 years of confusion about the true                relationship of the Benedict and Hunlock families.
