Fuller-Button Genealogy
by Mary Alice Benedict Grindol
From the introduction:
“In 1891, William Rufus Fuller married his second wife, Maryette Evelina “Mattie” Button.
There were occasional family gatherings in the early 1900’s that
included both sides of the family. Descendants of this couple and
of William by his first wife, Carrie Stoll,
have gathered annually since 1946. Buttons were included from the
beginning and eventually the event was called the Fuller-Button
reunion. Also attending have been descendants of William’s
siblings.
“William and Mattie’s marriage was not the only one to meld
the Fuller and Button families. William R. Fuller’s nieces,
daughters of his sister Mary Louisa (Fuller) Linkletter, each married brothers of Maryette Button. Edith Linkletter married James Robert Button, and after Edith died, James married her sister, Winifred (Linkletter) Jenne. Cora Linkletter married Ray Button. William’s nephew George Herbert Linkletter married Mattie’s sister Joanna Button. Later, one of Mattie and William Fuller’s sons, Lucius Fuller, married for his fourth wife, Eva (Besaw) Button who had been widowed first by Frank Button and second by William Earl Button, both of them Mattie’s brothers….”
