The Benedict Family History News assisted American researchers to learn more about ancestors surnamed Benedict (and its variations).  A typical issue included census compilations; book reviews; transcriptions of letters, diaries, newspaper notices, and vital records; corrections to previously published works about the Benedicts; and other miscellaneous information related to past or present Benedicts.

In 1997 the publication was named Runner-up-Family Associations and Newsletters in the newsletter competition of the National Genealogical Society and as a result, was featured in the July-August issue of the NGS Newsletter of that organization.  The same year, the newsletter joined the  Federation of Genealogical Societies  and was later featured in the FGS newsletter, the Forum by Family Association columnist, Christine Rose, CG, CGL, FASG.
The Benedict Family History News  was a print publication only.
