• 1880 Census for Moore County, Tennessee, shows Susan Bartlett, 23, widowed or divorced, and her daughter J.A., 1, living with her father, Jesse Warren, a 58 year old farmer; mother, Rebecca, 67; and sister, Rebecca E., 21. They are living next door to her brother Thomas E. Warren's family.

The only Bartlett child that appears to belong to Susan is J.A. The others listed here come from a website that might be incorrect.

Susan Warren and James S. Bartlett were married on 19 Mar 1878 in Moore County, Tennessee.^139,742 James S. Bartlett was born on 12 Jan 1851 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.

It has been told that James had two wives at the same time. One lived in Tennessee and the other in Texas. He would spend six months at a time with each one.

James Bartlett was a mean man according to his daughter,Mary. Mary said that he would lock the food away and wouldn't let them have it. Mary also said James was a short man.
