Our first known ancestor was John George Ressinger who left Germany on the "Snow Rowand" from Rotterdam, and arrived in South Carolina, 02 October 1752 with near 300 German passengers (Taken from the S.C. Gazette).
After arriving in South Carolina, on November 29, 1752 in Newberry County, South Carolina, he entered a Petition for land. Royal Grant Vol. 6, P 305, Council Journal S.C. Dept. of Archives and History South Carolina:
George the Second, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France and Ireland, KING, Defender of the Faith and so forth, To All To Whom These presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, THAT WE of our special Grace, certain Knowledge and mere Motion have given and granted, and by these Presents for us our heirs and successors, DO GIVE AND GRANT unto: John George Ressinger his heirs and assigns, a plantation or Tract of Land containing Two hundred and fifty acres in the Fork between Broad and Saludy Rivers. The land was granted in 1755 in Charlestown, South Carolina.
