Note: Reputed to have been "very wild", and to have married a Miss Mandeville, a daughter of General Mandeville. He was said to have died at sea. Occupation given as Ship's Captain, at baptism of his son Charles Findley (sic) Llewellyn McKennie. Asiatic Journal (Jill Grey in India-rootsweb) records (for Sept. 1837): "Mar.6 (1837) at Egmore, the lady of Capt.C.McKennie, maritime service, of a daughter". The EID records a death on 26 August 1837, "at Madras, Mr Chas. McKennie", but this was before the births of some of his children.[Mandeville kin.FTW]
