Also served in the regular Army (Co. C, 19th Infantry, U.S. Army, Kansas; mustered in July 11, 1871 at Newport, KY; mustered out July 11, 1876 at Fort Dodge, Kansas) and fought the Indians at Fort Dodge at the time of his discharge.
