Sterling originates in Stirlingshire,
ArgyllScotland. Some of the Clan Stirling were in Massachusetts
and Connecticut during the early colonization of North America. Our branch of Sterling's immigrated to South Carolina
from Scotland in the early 18th Century, eventually making Galveston County, Texas
their home. Related families are Dunn, Love, Chase, Stousland, and O'Brien.
