Bunce Family Group Sheet

Comments:  This record was submitted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by Albert Alverta Miller, a son of John Alverta and Alida Lorissa (Bunce) Miller, who was a member of that denomination.  His mother, Alida Bunce, was an older sister of my (Bonnie Bunce) grandfather, George Kress Bunce.  See record of their children.  We have been unable to determine whether the name of Peter's father was truly William Bunce, and we do not know what source was consulted for that record.  Additionally, my father once said he had heard from another cousin that his uncle (my g.uncle), John Jay Bunce, had stated some of our Bunce ancestors lived in or near "Fort Orange, New York," which area is now a part of Albany, New York, but my father (while he was alive), and now I, have been unable to find any connection, although there are miscellaneous records of Bunces living in that area at a later time around the time of the Civil War in a county history for Albany Co., New York.  John Jay Bunce may have also been the source for the belief that William Bunce was the name of the father of Peter Bunce, Sr.  The 1880 census record for the family of Peter Bunce, Jr. states that both his parents were born in Massachusetts, which differs from the record here that states Peter Bunce, Sr. was born in England.
