Note:  The following is Dave Martin's response to a message from another subscriber to the defunct National Genealogical Echo that Dave Martin had sent too many messages on the Robert White ancestry over the Echo's BBS computer system. Dave tells his reasons and his background for the foregoing record on the ancestry of Robert White of England. "SYSOP" means BBS system operator. "Snail mail" is BBS slang for the U.S. Post Office.

JS> Don't you really think this could have been sent
JS> snail mail. I think you're taking advantage of a
JS> lot of good-hearted sysops. Joe

First...  If you have a complaint talk to my SYSOP!  He has not indicated that I should not upload long messages.  Furthermore in checking with my SYSOP there are no rules regarding the size or number of messages being sent.  In overwhelming response to your message, it is running 20 to one in approval to your negative letter.

Second...  the person requested a quick reply and got it!

Third...  If you pay the postage, etc. then I'll send it "Snail Mail"!!!  I spend around $35 to $40 a week, with no reinbursment, supplying researchers with much needed information that saves countless hours of research for them and even then there is no way of knowing if the same family line will be found.

You and two others on this board that has a gripe of any kind, some of us here have a lot to give.  My database contains over 950,000 names and somewhere around 5,500 different family lines which all tie together and lead to the Magna Charta area.  My records have been published in countless books and Genealogical Societies such as The Living Descendants of Blood Royal, The Barons of the Magna Charter, The Order of the Crown in America, The Order of the Crusades, The Military Order of the Crusades and The Order of The Crown of Charlemagne just to name a few.  I've published three Vol. to date and working on my fourth and not everyone can spend $85.00 in order to get a copy and I intend to help as many as I can, for it is their right to know their ancestors and heritage, or until someone says STOP.

The Robert White response has generated 18 queries, most of which are all related to the same family line in one way or another.  I think this is what genealogy is all about sharing of information as quickly as possible in the world we live in.  In the future I will ask for addresses and give it to each one who connects to this Robert White Family line so that these distant cousins can contact each other.  The GENDATA board helps somewhat, but not everyone get to see what has been posted, so if I'm using this board wrong then let the good-hearted SYSOP's make their rules known and tell me that this is not the intended use!  I await the messages from the moderadors of this conferance, If they say?  Until then!!!!
