Around 1880 the children of Martin and Marianna changed the spelling of their
names to BEST.

Martin Berst's railroad watch. The watch was given by Martin to his son,
George Anthony. George gave it to his daughter, Katherine (Haws) who he lived
with in his old days. It then passed to Melvin, her son and then to his son,
Hugh Haws. Hugh passed away in 2006 and the watch was passed on to one of his
daughters.
