Martha Ann Luker had married, (1) Tuesday, 13 Nov 1838, Dadeville, Tallapoosa, AL, to James O. Smith. An entry in Foster Kendrick Smith Diary reads: " It is said that Jim was killed (shot from ambush)." James O. 'Jim' Smith's brother, Kendrick K. Smith, born abt 1827, GA; he married: 30 Oct 1842, Martha Ann Luker's sister, Barthena Elizabeth Luker, in Dadeville, Tallapoosa, AL. Kendrick K. Smith died abt 1862 in Titus County, TX, in that part that was cut off and made into Franklin County, 21 Sep 1875.

Foster Kendrick Smith, author of Diary, is the grandson of that union. Foster Kendrick's father, James Christopher Columbus Smith, married Rachel Amanda Hightower. Source: O'dell Hightower, grandson of Georgia Dukes Hightower.(Daughter, youngest, of Abraham and Martha Ann Luker Smith Dukes.)

Another of Martha Ann Luker's sisters, Lorina/Lorana Luker, married, 23 Oct 1842 (the license was issued 22 Oct 1842), Dadeville, Tallapoosa, AL) Ephraim L. Henry, born abt 1823, GA, and died, most likely in the vicinity of Vanoss (was Midland, in the days of the Indian Territory), Pontotoc County, OK.

Page 181 of the Tallapoosa County, AL Census was the last reference to Martha Ann's third sister and her two brothers - 1 age 5-10, and 1 age 10-15.

Abraham married, (2) John Thomas Franklin (JTF) Dukes' mother, 27 July 1843, Tuskegee or Notasulga, Macon County, AL (the record is filed in Record Book 1842-1850, in the Office of Probate Judgew, Tuskegee, Macon County, AL), Martha Ann Luker SMith, born abt 1820 in Oglethorpe County, GA or Coweta County, GA, or somewhere between those counties.

AbrahamJ. died 16 Sep 1892, most likely on the 100 acre farm he bought for $800, 14 miles west of Mount Pleasant, Titus, TX, on 3 Oct 1863; the land was bought from Spencer W. and Nancy sneed. The deed was filed for record 16 Nov 1863, and recorded in Book M, pages 336 and 337, 11 Dec 1863, Mt. Pleasant, Titus, TX. Abraham is buried in the Glade Springs Baptist Church Cemetery located behind the Glade Springs Baptist Church approximately one and a half miles east of TSHwy 37, on TSHwy 21 south of Mt. Vernon, TX.
