All I have posted here so far is taken from Major E.M. Woodard's History of Burlington County.

Among the early settlers of Washington was Yose Sooy [his name is usually rendered as 'Joose', or 'Joost'], a German, who settled on the East bank of the Atsion river and cleared up a farm. Joost Sooy was supposedly born in April of 1685 in the Netherlands. He was married to Sarah Van Tienhoven (daughter of Lucas Van Tienhoven). Yose (Joseph) Sooy had three sons:

I am also trying to tie this Sooy family into the main one outlined above:
Thomas K. Sooy, b. 1859 and d. abt 1937. He married Martha Crowley (b. 4 Jul 1864, d. 1935). Martha was the daughter of Sebastian Crowley and Sarah Ann Parker, and grand-daughter of Samuel Crowley and Tabitha Ford.
Thomas K. and Martha (Crowley) Sooy were the parents of:

I was also recently sent some pictures of Watson Sooy and his wife, Hattie Lane Sooy. You can see them below. Watson was a brother of a William Sooy, though I haven't figured out yet how he fits into the rest of the family. Hattie, according to "Jersey Genesis", was a school teacher at Harrisville.
