Will of James Bunyan Burnett


 

Georgia, Gilmer County

May the 11th 1884,  At my death I wont my wife Nancy Burnett to have all of my property to control as her property and at her death I wont Janey Burnett to have one horse and W. L. Burnett one horse and all the rest of my property to be so equally divided between the heirs or children after my debts is payed out of it this I, J. B. Burnett have made in the presence of my family and after my death I do want it recorded to stand.  stand just as it is not to be changed nor added to.

Signed, declared and published by James A. Burnett as his last will and testament in said in the presence of us subscribers who subscribe our names hereto and did on the foregoing page in the presence of the testator at his special instance and request and of each other he the testator with a full knowledge of the contents of the will having authorized and directed his signature to be subscribed to said will in our presence and we attesting the same in his presence May 11th 1884.

Personally came James W. Burnett who on oath say that the within and foregoing will is the last will and testament of James B. Burnett deceased so far as he knows and that the same was duly signed and witnessed as indicated on this paper that the deceased at the time of executing the same was of sound mind memory and fully understood the contents and the deponent makes the affidavit that the same may be admitted as proven in common form sworn to and subscribed before me July 7th 1884.
