218. John1 Leavens; born circa 1581 at England; married Rachel Wright 5 Jul 1639 at Roxbury, Suffolk, MA;145 died 15 Nov 1647 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.145

He "To America 1632 in 'William & Mary'; freeman Mar. 4, 1634. Married first on Jun. 16, 1603 at St. Mary's, Bocking, Essex to Elizabeth STEBBIN (bur. Oct. 10, 1638, Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA). John and Elizabeth had no known children. He was married second on Jul. 5, 1639 at Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA."

145 He "JOHN LEAVENS and his wife Elizabeth sailed from London Mar. 9, 1632, in the "William and Francis" and settled in Roxbury. He owned the triangular space between Dudley and Warren streets extended to include eleven acres. In 1637 he sold seven acres to Joseph Warren, grandfather of General Joseph Warren, the hero of Bunker Hill. He was made freeman Mar. 4, 1634. His wife Elizabeth died after a very long illness and was buried Oct. 10, 1638. He married, second, on July 5, 1639, Rachel Wright "a godly maid" says the church record. Both were members of John Eliot's church. He died of palsy Nov. 15, 1646, "an ancient godly Christian." The inventory of his estate is dated June 30, 1648."102 He "1647 Month 9. day 15. John Levens an ancient gody christian, dyed of a dead palsie. "

219. John2 Leavens (John1); born 27 Apr 1640;145 married Hannah Wood 17 Jun 1665 at Roxbury, MA;145 married Elizabeth Preston, daughter of Edward Preston and Margaret Hurst, 23 Nov 1674 at New Haven, Connecticut;145 died 16 Oct 1696 at Woodstock, CT, at age 56.145

220. Joseph3 Leavens (John2, John1); born 15 Nov 1683 at Roxbury, Suffolk, Massachusetts; married Judith Sabin, daughter of John Sabin and Sarah Peck, 1707; married Hannah Bryant 17 Dec 1755; died 5 Nov 1773 at Killingly, Connecticut, at age 89.

221. Abigail4 Leavens (Joseph3, John2, John1); born 13 Apr 1718 at Killingly, Connecticut; married Ezra Hutchins, son of John Hutchins and Mary Wyman, 10 Dec 1740 at Killingly, Connecticut; died 2 Jan 1801 at Killingly, Connecticut, at age 82.
