State of Georgia Hall County In the name of God Amen I Rebecca Barrett of the County of Hall and State of Georgia being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and being disposing to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength so to do, do make and publish this my last will and Testament.
And first I commit my Soul to God who gave it and my body I desire to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my circumstances and Conditions in life and my worldly estate I dispose of as follows.
1sn I desire and direct that after my death my negro woman Polly and her increase be sold and equally divided between my five living children to wit, C. A. Barrett William M. Barrett Lotty Pitman wife of John Pitman John R Barrett and Francis A Barrett
2nd I give and bequeath to the lawful heirs of my deceased daughter Martha Williams wife of Russel J. Williams One dollar
3rd I desire and direct that the farming tools and books and Waggon be equally divided between my two sons Francis A Barrett and William M Barrett
4th I desire and direct that all my other property consisting of half of the household and Kitchen furniture. One half of the cattle and hogs on hand at my death. One half of the Bees. One half of the Meat and Lard and Corn that is on hand at my death be equally divided between my five living children to wit. C. A. Barrett William M Barrett Lotty Pitman wife of John Pitman John R Barrett and Francis A Barrett
Also what Notes and money I have on hand after paying my burial expenses to be equally divided between my five named children.
All the above to be named property except the Negro Woman Polly and her increase to be divided without selling the same
In Witness where of I the said Rebecca Barrett have this my will consisting of One Sheet of paper set my hand and Seal this 8th day of April 1857 her Rebecca X Barrett (LS)Mark
Signed Sealed published and declared by the above named Rebecca Barrett as her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request in presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto

State of Georgia Hall County Whereas I Rebecca Barrett did on the 8th day of April 1857 publish and declare my last will and testament and Whereas I omitted in said Will to appoint an Exicutor to the same for remedy whereof, I the said Rebecca Barrett do hereby Constitute and appoint to law C. A. Barrett Executor of my said last will and Testament as aforesaid In testimony whereof I the said Rebecca Barrett have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 6th day of May 1857

Georgia Hall County Court of Ordinary for said County June Term 1857
Personally came into Court C. A. Barrett and produces an instrument in writing alleged by him to be the last will and testament of Rebecca Barrett dec. and produces the witnessess thereto viz Joseph Dunagan, Benjamin Dunagan and John E. Redwine, which witnesses being duly sworn depose & say that they saw the said Rebecca the testatrix Sign seal declare and publish the instrument now produced as her last will and Codicil freely voluntarily and of her own accord, and without any compulsion or influence whatever that at the time of the execution of said will and Codicil said testatrix was of sound and disposing mind and memory.
That desponents signed said will and Codicil as witnesses in the presence of the testatrix, and at her special instance and request Sworn to and Subscribed before me the 1sn of June 1857

Georgia Hall County I do solemnly swear that the writing now presented by me contains the true last will and Codicil of the within named Rebecca Barrett deceased so far as I know or believe. And that I will execute the same by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in the said will as far as her goods and chattel will thereunto extend and the law charge me, and that I will make a true and perfect inventory of all such goods and chattels, so help me God.
