Attached is a picture of Joseph Taurence Barrett. He is the GG Grandson of Reuben Barrett. Joseph was born Jul 22, 1856 and died ????. He Married Mintoria Rosetta Owen on Jul 21, 1878 and they lived out their lives in North Georgia. Mintoria was the G Granddaughter of Reuben Barrett, the Granddaughter of Elizabeth Wilson Barrett and the Daughter of Emily Millicent Hutchins.

Contrary to some stories, Joseph left Ga. only once in his entire life.This was when his sons, Charlie Delmer and Andrew Fermer took him to the Alabama & Georgia state line. Joseph stepped over the line for about a minure returned to Ga. and never left again. Some researcher somewhere has come up with the story that Joseph and Mintoria moved to California where they died. This is 100% inaccurate. Joseph and Mintoria are buried in the New Bethel Church Cemetery in Cherokee County, Ga.

Attached it a picture of five of the sons of John R. Barrett. We believe the picture was taken about 1905.

The men are (left to right) Isaac Parino Barrett (my grandfather), James Mattison Barrett, Andrew Jackson Barrett, George Bright Barrett, and Francis (Frank) Stanton Barrett (my Civil War hero).
