John Barrett Folklore

"Jan has family in the same area of Georgia (Dawson-Forsyth Counties) where my Barretts lived. The area is known as Barrettsville. One of her cousins (I'm not sure of the degree) built a convenience store about a mile from the cemetery where my great grandfather, John R. Barrett, is buried. He planed to call the store Barrettsville Grocery. The sign maker spelled in Barretsville. When the store owner finally noticed the error he decided it was too late to worry about it."
