"LOCAL NEWS"
Mrs. FANNIE BARRETT died at her home in the Sandtown community last Sunday night. She was 81 years old and had lived on the same place for seventy years.

NOTE: Frances E. Barrett was the widow of Elisha M. Barrett (born 23 Feb 1819, Tuscaloosa Co.,AL and died 25 April 1905), buried at Sandtown Cemetery. Elisha was the son of Reuben Jr, (son of soldier Reuben) and Sarah Miller of SC. Mr Robert Garner of Ada, OK, who has done extensive research on the Barrett- Caradine connection, explains that Sarah Miller Barrett was the daughter of Jane Caradine (dau. of Thomas Caradine and his first wife Elizabeth Bell) and Janes husband Elisha Miller. ELISHA M. BARRETT'S uncle, ARTHUR BARRETT (1798-1874) married MARY CARADINE, half sister of Jane Caradine. Mary's mother, Elizabeth Grant, was the 2nd wife of THOMAS CARADINE of SC. (This indicates Arthur and Mary's son William Grant Barrett, father of Rita Ann Barrett Tingle, was a first cousin of Elisha M. Barrett.
