Minutes Of The Bush River Monthly Meeting

The extant Minutes of the Bush River Meeting were transcribed into handwritten notes by Julia S. White. The exact date of this effort was not determined, but it appears to have been in the 19th Century. The transcription was compiled into three Books.

Book 1, pp. 1-167: Minutes of Menís Minutes, 4th month, 1772 to 2nd month 1783.

Book 2, pp. 1-192: Minutes of Menís Minutes, 9th month, 1783 to 10th month 1794.

Book 3, pp. 1-78: Minutes of Womenís Minutes, 9th month, 1792 to 11th month 1801.

Book 3, pp. 81-301: Minutes of Menís Minutes, 11th month, 1794 to 5th month 1805.

White states that she made minor changes only in punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Any word which she supplied is indicated by its enclosure in brackets, [ ]. Italicized words indicate my uncertainty of Whiteís handwritten transcription.

A fourth Book with an additional 67 pages covering the period 1805-1820 was transcribed for Hinshaw by his assistant, Laura D. Worth in 3rd month 1935. All of this material is available on microfilm at the SC Archives in Columbia, SC: PR 0055 Transcript by Julia S. White, and PR 0056 Original Manuscript.

The original documents are housed at Guilford College, Greensboro, NC.
