The 40th Reg., of which the company was a part, had organized at Meridian, May 14. The Co. saw service at Iuka, the Siege of Vicksburg, and the hard fought battles around Atlanta. It surrendered with the Army near Durham Station, April 26, 1865, amoung the last to quit the fight."
