Mrs. Lucy Armentrout 96-year-old Fort Stockton resident, died Tuesday morning in Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Graveside services were held in East Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, under direction of Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Armentrout was born May 13, 1882 in Madisonville and moved here in 1917 from Brewster County.

She was a housewife and a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Duncan of Fort Stockton, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Note: Lucy Armentrout was the daughter of William T Bobo and Martha “Mattie” Elizabeth Barrett.

Lucy Bobo was also known as Lucy G Bobo and Elizabeth Bobo.

Burial:

East Hill Cemetery, Ft. Stockton, Pecos, Texas: Lucy Bobo Armentrout is buried in East Hill cemetery on the lot of a C.Q. Duncan. C.Q. Duncan was born in 1904 and died 1965. C.D. or Q. Duncan was Lucy's son in law. The cemetery is 1 mile south of the city of Ft. Stockton on Hwy 285 and west about 0.5 miles on a small hill overlooking the city of Ft. Stockton.

Also buried in this cemetery is Tommy Ralph Bobo born Oct 2, 1936 and died April 3, 1960 in Williamson Co Tx. He was a Tx Pvt in Co B 142 Signal BNn. We have not made a connection to Tommy and Lucy as of yet. Tommy is the son of Trecie Lucille Crockett and Thomas William Bobo born in Pecos county. Maybe a Nephew???

Mary Martha Duncan, 84, died at her home Wednesday, March 13, 1991.

Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 1991, at East Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Mrs. Duncan was born Sept. 21, 1906, in San Saba, Texas. She married C Q Duncan May 16, 1925. He preceded her in death May 2, 1965. A resident of Fort Stockton since 1914, she was a waitress. Her only daughter, Annis Rose Ellis, preceded her in death March 26, 1978.

She is survived by seven grandchildren: Melane Grayson of Nacogdoches, Mariwin Roberts, Carl Ane Ellis, Dana Ellis Byrd, and Bill Ellis, all of Fort Stockton, Marla Baker of East Palestine, Ohio, and Carla Browning of Brady; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

RITES WEDNESDAY FOR C Q DUNCAN, COUNTY TAX OFFICER

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock for Carl Quinn Duncan, long-time Fort Stockton resident who had been a Pecos County tax officer for the last eight years.

Mr Duncan had been in poor health for some time, but suffered a sudden illness at his home Sunday morning and was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital on arrival there at 8 o’clock.

Born in Llano July 4, 1904, he had been a resident here since 1914. He was a deputy tax collector in charge of vehicle registration under two different elected officials, J M McDonald and Dan Crump.

Mr Duncan had been in the café business, operated a service station, and worked in other lines before becoming tax collector. During World War II he was a member of the Texas State Guard Company here, serving as a platoon Sergeant.

He was a Past Master of Fort Stockton Lodge No. 1022, A F & A M, and also was a member of Fort Stockton Chapter and Council, Alpine Commandery, and the Scottish Rite Consistory in El Paso.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Methodist Church, by the Rev. William H Hardwick, pastor, and the Rev. T O. Perrin, Presbyterian minister. Burial was at East Hill Cemetery, with Owen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, and with the following Pallbearers: Dan Crump, Joe and Rush Schlegel, Oran M. Nicks, J. R. Hunnicutt of El Paso, and Fritz Crump of San Angelo.

Graveside burial rites of the Masonic Lodge were conducted by Hal Burnett of Alpine, long-time friend of Mr Duncan, and immediate past Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Texas.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs Mary Duncan of Fort Stockton, a daughter Mrs Annis Rose Ellis, of Lakewood, Calif, seven grand- children; two sisters, Mrs Joe Holland, Sr., of Fort Stockton and Mrs H J Bice of Amarillo; and two brothers, R L Duncan of Odessa, and Oran Duncan of Henner, La.
