From theClinton Republican of 27 March 1901 :
" David MILLER, a resident of Beech Creek township, died last Wedn
esday from causes incident to old age, at the homeof William Mann. He w
as aged ninty-three years. The funeral took place Thursday and interment w
as made in the Disciple graveyard. "
Although his obit says he died at the home of Willian MANN he was NOT enum
erated in the 1900 census in the home of William MANN. Additionally, he w
as NOT enumerated with any of his children in 1900... and I could NOT fi
nd him anywhere in 1900 census........
DEATH CERTIFICATE received from Clinton County on 1 Mar 2002. They copy f
rom what they have in an old book where deaths were recorded... No "dea
th certificate " was actually issued back then. Anyway, it says " David Mi
ller, age 92 years, 6 months and 14 days, died on the twentieth day of Mar
ch 1901 from complications of old age. Interment is in Blanchard. "

"A large concourse of people assembled in the Christian church at Eag
leville, on Friday,Feb. 7, to pay the last tribute of respect to Mrs. Ja
ne MILLER, an aged andmuch respected lady of Beech Creek, whose age w
as 76 years, 4 months and 27 days. The services were conducted by Elder J
ackson, who preached a very eloquent and touching sermon. The remains we
re in terred in the cemetery near by.Pall bearers were John Harleman, H
enry Berry, William Gardner, Marshal Packer, William Waite and Mr. Loomi
s. "

Carpenter Miller, a life-long resident of this borough, died at his r
esidence on West Fairview street, about 2 o'clock Monday afternoon followi
ng an illness of a year, due to paralysis. He was aged about 72 years a
nd was welland favorably known throughout this community. He was a veter
an of the CivilWar and a number of years ago united with the Methodist ch
urch. Besides hiswife, one daughter, Mrs. Annie Shope, and one step-daug
hter, Mrs. Ella Morrisey, both of Penn's Grove, N.J., survive. The funer
al service will be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Death Cert # 41915 issued by State of Penn. on 16 April 1916. Informa
nt on death cert was a " W.R. Russell" of Keating, Clinton County, Pennsyl
vania. Physician in attendence was Dr. Graydon D. Merovian. His address w
as " Bitumen".
He was named after Dr. William P. Rothrock.

OBITUARY : (Clinton Republican, 26 April 1916)
BeechCreek, April 22.-- William Rotherick Miller died at the home of h
is son, George, with whom he resided at Keating, last Saturday eveni
ng of Asthma. The remains, accompanied by relatives, arrived here over t
he New York Central railroad via Clearfield Tuesday evening. Services we
re conducted by Rev. W. H. Dudley in the Disciple church Wednesday morni
ng and interment made in the Disciple cemetery, where the wife of the dece
ased was buried several years ago. Many friends and relatives attended t
he funeral. The deceased was a residentof this vicinity most of his li
fe until recent years. He was named after thelate Dr. William P. Rothroc
k, and was known to his intimate friends as " Rote" Miller. He was aged a
bout 70 years, and always a respected citizen of good character and reputa
tion. The following children survive : Mrs. WilliamRobb, Jersey Shor
e; Mrs. Nathan Kuhn, Clearfield; George, of Keating; and Walter, residi
ng in Nittany valley. The casket bearers were Michael Miller, Napoleon Ga
ngnon, Henry C. Williams, Henry H. Salisbury, James Bowes and TimothyMcCa
rthy.
