The Mackie family The Mackie family is descended from William Mackie and Janet Lessels, who were married in 1769 in Crail, Fife. William, a joiner by trade, could be the son of John Mackie and Barbara Harrow b. 2 October 1748 and christened on 4th October 1748 in Crail, Fife but this is conjecture only from IGI records. John and Barbara were married in Kingsbarns, Fife 17 July 1730. They had children: Isabel b: 1735 Crail, Fife Similarly, Janet Lessels
could be the daughter of James Lessels and Jean Adamson, born and christened on 29 June 1749 in Dysart.
This is conjecture only based on IGI entries, but seems likely since her
son and daughter were James and Jean. Click on any
