The Wix family is descended from William Wix and Elizabeth Penton who were married in Sherborne St. John, Hampshire. William's parents could have been William and Mary Wix who had a son William  baptised 18 Feb 1720 in Monk Sherborne, Hampshire, next door to Sherborne St. Johns. In this case William senior was born about 1695 also in Monk Sherborne, and married Mary Biggs 19 October 1719 in Baughurst, Hants. according to IGI records.  William and Mary had five sons:

Peter Chr: 11 March 1725 Monk Sherborne, Hants.
Edward Chr: 29 April 1729 Monk Sherborne, Hants.

William jnr. was married for a second time, to Ann Cannings, in Monk Sherborne and started having children in Sherborne St. Johns not long after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth Penton.  Thanks to Maureen Tigwell for confirming this.
