On 1-22-2004 I asked Mr. Wendell Peters, Floyd Co., VA
Clerk of Court, about Birth & Death Records kept at Floyd Court House. This
was his reply dated 01-23-04: “We have no death or birth records except for an
unorganized book from 1853 to 1872. We have no actual documents, but
refer everyone to the Bureau of Vital Records in
The “unorganized book” was transcribed by Marjorie
Fluor and Marguerite Tise & published by Marjorie Fluor in a book titled:
1853-1872 Birth and Death Records
And the
I bought my most recent copy at the Wilderness Road Museum,
Pulaski Co., VA in 2005.

at the Floyd Co., Virginia Court House. I have transcribed (1831-1920) the Male
Marriage Index & it can be found by surname under the Families of Floyd
Co.,
