| Notes for Elizabeth Feake | ||||||||||||
| "Boston, Nov. 11, 1854 Amos Otis, Esq., Dr. Sir, - I find I have erred in called John Dillingham's wife 'Teake.' Her name was Feake. The Old Colony Small Book gives the marriage thus: 'John Dillingham & Elizabeth Feake were married on the 24th of March 1650 at Sandwich.' 1654 "Elizabeth, bap. June 30, 1633, St. Peter's Cornhill, record calls her daughter of Henry ffeake, gent., at Mr. Wollaston's house; m. March 24, 1650, Sandwich, John (2) Dillingham (edward 1). The will of John Dillingham, dated Nov. 15, 1707 (Barnstable County Wills 3:223), mentions wife Elizabeth, son John, Daughter Hannah Thorpe, daughter Rebecca Gray, and th two children of Sarah Jones. Sarah Dillingham married ca. 1678, as the first of two wives, Jeremiah Jones, on whom see Mrs. John E. Barclay (The American Genealogist 31:124)." 1651 She was also said to have died 15 Dec 1720 aged 73. 593 however, this would mean that she would have been born in 1647 which does not fit with her baptism date. "Elizabeth Feake's birth date is given as 1647 and her marriage to John Dillingham is given as 1650. Dean Dudley suggests that the birth date is extrapolated from a death in 1720 in her 73rd year, and this may refer to second wife also named Elizabeth." 1470 "Alexander (pg.27) gives neither birth nor death dates for Elizabeth." 1470 | ||||||||||||
