This letter was written as a letter of introduction for our daughter, Kristen's class project in 1998.

To Whom It May Concern:
Anytime a parent stops to describe their child, in good times or bad, it is difficult to do so without allowing a lot of emotion to work its way into the text. The following is my best attempt to factually describe my daughter.
Kristen has grown into an extremely confident, independent and fiercely opinionated young woman. Anyone who meets her soon learns she travels to the beat of her own drum - sometimes her own orchestra!
As her mother, I would love to take credit for Kristen's passion, dedication and integrity for those causes she believes are just and true. But that would not be fair or honest to Kristen. She deserves the wealth of credit for her development as a wonderful and unique human being. She has faced hurdles and over come them often insisting to do so without help. For the most part, her father and I have just been along for the journey.
