1. Michael LAFEY was born about 22 Jun 1778. He died 1 Aug 1847 in Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth, Ontario and was buried in Fifty, Winona, Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth, Ontario.
Michael married (1) Catherine about 1811. Catherine died before 1841 in Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth,
Upper Canada and was buried in Fifty, Winona, Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth, Ontario.
They had the following children:
2 F i. Sarah LAFEY was born 9 Mar 1813. She died 1895. Sarah married (1) Thomas J. WELDON in 1836. Sarah also married (2) Bryan CARPENTER about 1845.
+ 3 M ii. Isaac S. LAFEY was born about 1817 and died after 1880.
4 F iii. Hannah LAFEY was born about 1819.
5 F iv. Susannah Rachel LAFEY was born about 1822.
6 F v. Mary LAFEY was born about 1825.
+ 7 F vi. Esther LAFEY was born about 1828.
Michael also married (2) Jane. Jane died after 1841.
They had the following children:
8 M vii. John M. LAFEY was born 17 Sep 1841 in Saltfleet, Wentworth, Ontario. He died 27 May 1858 in Malahide Twp., Elgin, Canada West and was buried in Luton Cemetery, Malahide Twp., Elgin, Ontario.
Michael also married (3) Anna FELKER, daughter of Johann Frederick (John) VÖLCKEL /FELKER U. E. L. and Mary MINGLE, before 1851 in Lincoln, Upper Canada. Anna was born about 22 Jul 1797 in U. S. A.. She died 4 Apr 1891 in Malahide Twp., Elgin, Ontario and was buried 2 in Luton Cemetery, Malahide Twp., Elgin, Ontario.

In 1851 Census for Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth Co. (1-19 printed 45), Anna Lafey gives age as 50 and birth place as US. Widow. She bought land at Malahide near Whitesells in 1853. She is with sister Lydia Felker and stepson or son John Lafey, 10. In 1861 at Malahide (3-10) Anna LaFey is widow, age 50, W. Meth. born in US living with Lydia Felker, born US, and John Lafey, 10, born at Saltfleet. In 1871 at Malahide (2-59) Annie Lafey is 75, born ? they are living next to brother-in-law and sister Daniel and Elizabeth Whitesell. Living with her is her unmarried sister, Lydia Felker. In 1881 at Malahide (2-50) Anna Lefey is 84, widow, born in Ontario; Episc. She died just before the 1891 census.
g.s. gives that she died 4 April 1891; age 94. Ida Crozier does not give a husband for this Anna. No Land petition found.
g.s. She and her sister Lydia Felker have a double stone. Searched all Malahide 1891 Death Registrations.
The Nora Felker given by Ida Crozier was supposed to have been born 22 July 1797 which fits with her age of 94 on her g.s.
Saltfleet property records; Ann Lafey, widow transfers property to Sylvester Smith W 1/3 of 170 / petititon a cc claim; Lot 8, Conc. 4; Quit Claim, 29 Aug 1853.
No Elgin county probate record for Anna.
Second Generation
3. Isaac S. LAFEY (Michael) was born about 1817 in Saltfleet Twp., Wentworth, Upper Canada. He died after 1880 in Dayton Twp., Tuscola, Michigan.
In 1852 at Townsend Twp., Norfolk, p. 205, Isaac Lafey is 44 a widow and shoemaker with 5 children and a Mary A. Martin (or Berdan?), 22 living with him. Children, Michael, 17, Caroline, 15, Sarah A., 13, Claresa or Celdelia, 6, Hellen, 3, Mary A. Martin, 22. Sarah A is also enumerated at Windham Twp., (p. 35) age 12 with L. Lewis, Sawyer.
