Death Certificate of Charles Arthur Custer, Sr.

Charles A Custer, Sr. arrived in Detroit around 1923. There he worked in the shipping department at Ford Motor Company. Apparently the farming life of his ancestors was not for Charles. His death was reported by his sister Elma Gertrude Custer Arbitter, who was living in Royal Oak, MI at the time. She too seems to have given up the farming life.

Charles suffered from Acute Hemorrlogic (sp?) Pancreatitis, which developed into Gangrene of the Pancreas. Other contributing factors are cholecysotitis and cholecythissis (sp?). I believe that the doctor's name may have been D. U. McLeau. Charles died at 8:03PM at Grace Hospital.
