At the request of Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard the Following Deed was Recorded October the 10th day one Thousand Seven hundred and sixty five to wit

This Indenture made this       day of      in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Sixty five Between William Winchester of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland of the one Part and Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard of the Same County and Province of the other Part  Witnesseth that the said William Winchester for and in Consideration of the sum of Nine Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid and the Payment of the rents and Performance of the Covenants and Agreements in these Presents hereafter Mentioned on the part and behalf of the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns to be Done and Performed hath Demised, Granted Leased, Set and to Farm Lett in and by these Presents Doth Demise Grant Lease Set and to farm Let unto the Said Angel and Bankard their heirs Executors administrators and assigns for Ever all the four Lotts of Ground Lying and being in the Town of Westminster in Frederick County in the Province aforesaid and on the North East side of the main Street of Said Town Said Lotts being known and Destinquished in the Plan of Said Town, by the Number 1, 2, 14 & 15 with all and Singular the Improvements on the Premises and Advantages to the Said Lotts of Land belonging or in any ways Appertaining To have and to hold the said Demised Lotts of Land and Premises with its Appurtenances and Every Part and Parcel thereof unto the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns Doth hereby Covenant and agree to and with the Said William Winchester his heirs and Assigns that They the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their heirs Executors and Administrators, shall and will well and truly pay unto the Said William Winchester his heirs or Assigns the Yearly rent of Seven Shillings and six Pence Current Money of Maryland or one Spanish Dollar in Lieu thereof for Every lott on theTwenty Fifth Day of December and if it Should Happen the Said yearly rent or sum of Seven Shillings and Six Pence Current Money of Maryland or one Spanish Dollar in Lieu thereof for Every Lott hereby reserved or any Part Thereof Should be behind unpaid by the Space of Sixty Days next after Lawfully Demanded on the Said Premises that then and from Thenceforth it shall and May be Lawfull for for The Said William Winchester his heirs and Assigns into the said Lotts of Land or Premises Demised or Leased or any Part Thereof to reenter and again to hold and Enjoy as in his Former Estate until all the arrears of rent and Interest Thereof with his other Legal Cost and Charges to be Paid and Satisfied any thing in these Presents Contained to the Contrary Notwithstanding and the said Charles Angel & Jacob Bankard for themselves their heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns Doth hereby Covenant and Agree and Grant to and with the said William Winchester his heirs Executors administrators and Assigns by these Presents that is to Say that the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their Heirs and Assigns shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend the said Demised Premises or Lotts of Ground with its appurtenances and Every Part and Parcel Thereof under the rents and Covenants herein Contained against him the said William Winchester his heirs and assigns or by his or their Procurement for ever without the Least Trouble, Ineruption or Denial of William Winchester his heirs or Assigns or any other Person or Persons Lawfully Claiming or to Claim from by or under them the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their heirs or Assigns or Any or Either of them.  In Witness whereof the said Parties hath hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and seals the Day and Year first above Written.

On the back of which Deed was the following Indorsement to wit

Received of Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard Party to the Within Deed the Sum of Nine Pounds current Money it being the Consideration money for the within Bargained premises, I say received by me.

Then came William Winchester Party to the Within Deed before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of Frederick County and acknowledged the Within Deed to be his act and the Land and Premises therein Mentioned to be the right Title Estate and Inheritance of the within Mentioned Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their heirs and assigns for ever  The Same day came Lydia Winchester Wife of the within mentioned William Winchester and being Examined out of the hearing of her husband did Acknowledge her Right of Dowery to the Within Mentioned Premises to be the Estate of the within Mentioned Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their heirs and Assigns for Ever without any Fear of the Threats or other ill usage from her said husband but of her own free will.

October th3 10th day 1765  Then received of Charles Angel & Jacob Bankard two Pence sterling as an Alienation fine on the within mentioned four Lotts of Ground by order of Edwd Loyd Esquire Agent of his Lordship the right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of Maryland.

At the Request of Simon Baum the following Deed was Recorded July 24th 1769.  To Wit –
This Indenture made the twenty Eighth day of June in the year of Our Lord Seventeen hundred and Sixty nine between Charles Angle Jacob Bankard of Frederick County in the province of Maryland of the one part, and Simon Baum of Westminister Town yoe-man of the Other part Witnesseth that the said Angle & Bankard for and in Consideration of the Sum of four pounds current money to them in hand paid and the payment of the Rents and performance of the Covenants and agreements in these presents hereafter mentioned on the part and behalf of the said Simon Baum his heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns to be done and performed hath Demised Granted Leased Set and to Farm Lette, and by these presents doth Demise, Grant Let and to Farm let unto the Said Simon Baum his heirs and assigns all that Lot of ground lying and being in the Town of Westminster in the County and province aforesaid being known in the plan of Said Town by the number One and two, and Situate on the north East side of the main street and bounded to the north Westard by lotts now the property of John Mc[?] and to the North East by the first line of Whites Level and to the South East by the Second line of whites Level and to the South West by the Line of the main Street of Said Town Containing and laid out for one quarter of an acre of land more or less Said lott being part of a tract of land Called White Level with all and Singular the Improvements on the premises and advantages to the said Lott of land belonging or any ways appurtaining To have and to hold the Said lot of land and Premises with the appurtinances and Every part and parcel thereof unto the Said Baum his heirs and assigns and the Said Simon Baum doth hereby Covenant and agree to and with the Said Charles Angle and Jacob Bankard well and truly to pay unto Wm Wincheser his heirs and assigns the yearly rent or sum of seven Shillings and Six pence current money on Christmas Eve every year, and yearly and if it should happen that any part of the Said Sum of Seven Shillings and Sixpence Should Remain unpaid by the Space of Sixty Days next after a Lawful demand on the Said premises that from then and from thenceforth it Shall and be Lawful for the said Winchester his heirs and assigns into the Said Lott of land and premises Demised or leased on any part thereof to Re-enter and again to have hold Occupy and Enjoy as in his former Estate under all arrears of Rent and Interest thereon with his or their Cost and Charges to be paid and Satisfied any thing to the Contrary in these presents Contained notwithstanding and the Said William Winchester for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant Grant and agree to and with the said Simon Baum his heirs and assigns, that the said William Winchester his heirs and assigns Shall and Will for ever Defend the Said Demised Premises or lott of ground with the appurtenance and Every part and Parcel thereof and the Rent and Covenant herein Contained against him the Said Angle his heirs and assigns or by his or their [?] for Ever without the least trouble [?] or Interruption from him the Said Angle or any other person lawfully claiming or to claim [?] by or under him.  In Witness whereof the said Parties hath hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and year above written.

At the Foot of which Lease was the following Indorsements, To Wit

June ye 23d 1769 Then Received of Simon Baum the sum of Four pounds Current money the Consideration above mentioned for he above Lott of Ground wee Say Received by us.

June ye 20th 1769 Came Charles Angle and Jacob Bankard parties to the above Deed before us the Subscribed [?] of his Lordship Justices for Frederick County and acknowledged the above Deed to be their act and Land and Premises therein mentioned to be the Estate of the above mentioned Simon Baum his heirs and assigns for Ever according to the true intent and meaning of the above Deed (acknowledged before) Wm Blair, Jos. Wood.
Recd July 24th 1769 of Simon Baum one half penny Sterling an alienation fine on the within Land by order of David of St. Thomas [?] Esq. His Lordship’s agent.

At the request of James Wells the following Deed was recorded 20th November 1784 to wit

This Indenture made this 6th Novemr 1784 seventeen hundred and eighty four Between Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland of the one part, and James Wells of the same County and Province of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard for and in Consideration of the Sum of ten pounds twelve Shillings and six Pence Current Money to him in Hands paid and the Payments of the Rents and Performance of the Covenants and Agreements in these Presents hereafter mentioned on the part and Behalf of the said James Wells his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns to be done and performed hath demised granted leased sett and to Farm et in, and by these Presents doth demise grant lease sett and to Farm let unto the sd James Wells his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever, All the two Lotts of Gound, Lotts of Ground lying and being in the Town of Westminster in Frederick County in the Province aforesaid and on the Northeast Side of the Main Street of said Town sd Lotts being known and distinquished in the plan of sd Town by the Numbers of 14 & 15, with all and singular the Improvements on the sd Premises and Advantages to the said Lotts of Land belonging, or in any way appertaining.  To have and to hold the sd. Demised Lotts of Land and Premises with its appurtenances and every Part and Parcel thereof unto the sd James Wells his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns.  And the said James Wells doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankart his Heirs and Assigns, that he the said James Wells his Heirs & Executors and Administrators shall and will well and truly pay unto William Winchester Senr. His Heirs or Assigns the yearly Rent of seven Shillings and six Pence Current Money of Maryland or one Spanish Dollar in Lieu thereof for each Lot on the twenty fifth day of December, and if it should happen the sd yearly rents or Sum of seven Shillings and six Pence Current money of Maryland or one Spanish Dollar in Lieu thereof for every Lott hereby reserved or any Part thereof should be behind and unpaid by the Space of sixty Days next after lawfully demanded on the Premises that then and from thence forth it shall and may be lawful for the sd William Winchester his Heirs and Assigns into the said Lotts of Land or Premises demised or any Part thereof to re-enter, and again to have hold occupy and enjoy as in his former Estate of Inheritance until all the Arrears of Rent and Interest thereon with his or their proper Costs and Charges be paid and satisfied any Thing in these Presents to the Contrary contained notwithstanding.  And the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard for themselves and their Heirs do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said James Wells his Heirs and Assigns, that the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their Heirs and Assigns shall and will forever defend the Demised Premises with the Appurtenances and every part thereof under the Rents and Covenants herein contained against them the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankard their Heirs or Assigns or by his or their Procurement.  In Witness whereof the said Charles Angel and Jacob Bankart hath hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year above  written.

Fredk County .  On the 6th November seventeen hundred and eighty four Came Charles Angel and Jacob Bankart Parteys to the above deed before us the Subscribers two Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid, and acknowledged it to be their Act and the Lotts of Land therein mentioned to be the Estate of the above mentioned James Wells his Heirs and Assigns forever, according to the true Intent and Meaning of the above deed.
