The Wedding Day
Its not that Rick and Sandy really wanted to run away and
get married
- or - that they really wanted to keep their entire families from
attending
I met Sandy several years ago and immediately liked her and felt a closeness to her that she probably didn't feel at all. I can't tell you why I felt it - but somehow I knew our lives were not destined to separate. Rick was married at the time and I well remember that he teased her a lot - okay - flirted with her a lot. But she fluffed him off, tossed her head, and pretended to ignore him, and his flirting lead nowhere.... because "he was a married man". (hmmm) Then I was mercifully fired from that job and my path and Sandy's separated until now.
Through the years Rick mentioned her name "occassionally".. she went on to marry someone else - he proceeded to get a divorce and it seemed that this would be where it would all end. But life has its twists and turns and we are not the ones in control of events and situations. He went in and out of relationships destined to fail while she had two sons and was also in a relationship destined to fail. When Sandy's marriage did come to end, Rick found himself "free" and the rest is history. They got together after all these years and today they are married - and Please God, this will be a happy one for them both.
I am Rick's Mom - and Sandy's new Mother-In-Law -- I love you both and wish you the very best forever...
