The Sun was smiling this beautiful day. The Blue sky overhead was so perfect that you thought you could touch it. Not a cloud or a shadow could be found. The Shower was held at the Buffalo Grove Golf Club and we had a nice large room for the occassion. The Table was set up in a "U" fashion so everyone could talk rather easily. The Gift opening would be done in the middle of the "U".
Tami, Denise's sister, gave the shower and was in complete control of the day. With the help of her best friend Peggy the decorations were up, the details all complete, and the party was set to begin. Nothing to do now but greet the guests soon to arrive.
The Cake was just beautiful. Two complete hearts with Denise & Bret engraved on it. Done up in the Black and White colors that Denise has chosen for her wedding.
The guests arrived, and right on time! The room was decorated in the same black and white theme, with balloons and crepe paper. Little Hershey Kisses, done up to look like Bouquets, were the party favors - and my "uncrafty" daughter Tami did them all herself.

The Food was delicious but there was so much excitement that we couldn't do it justice. Lots of picture taking, lots more talking and Tami was busy making sure everyone was having a good time. We had the most wonderful "waiter". He never forgot a thing - he was young and good looking and the "girls" teased him endlessly.
The Gifts were everywhere - every shape, color and size. I can't begin to list all the things she received but everything was "just what she wanted."
From Crystal Vases to Bar B Que grills, the gifts kept on coming. Tami presented them with all the "odds and ends" needed for the Wedding Supper. I don't think a single thing was forgotten.
Our gift to Denise was this 4 Foot Tall, Leaded Glass, Quilt Trunk. Although made to hold quilts I found that it would also hold a "Bride Doll". I made the Bride Doll outfit in Denise's image from an Authentic Antique Bridal Gown. The outfit is complete with her purse. Later when she is tired of the doll she can keep her "antique" quilts in the trunk. She already has one - from her grandmother and I she has another one that I made for here. This trunk is big enough to hold at least 3 of them.
