Funeral services for William H. Kesterson, a former Nelsonville resident, who died Tuesday at his home in Haydenville, will be held at the M.E. Church in Haydenville Friday at 1 p.m. Burial will be made at Greenlawn. (Athens Messenger 3 Dec 1931)

Besides her, he leaves three other daughters, Mrs. Martha Hamilton and Mrs. Helen Hughesof Columbus and Mrs. Pauline St. John of Indian Lake,Ohio; three sons, Elmer of Logan, Harold of Massachusetts and Leonard of Columbus; a brother John and a sister, Mrs. Dora Kittell , both of Nelsonville; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at the Warren funeral home, where services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William Brown. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery
Opal Pearl (Kesterson) Arnold, 84, Nelsonville, died Monday, Feb. 22 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center, The Plains. Born June 1, 1914, Nelsonville, daughter of the late Charles and Anna Hartsock Kesterson, she was the widow of Roy Arnold. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Athens, and Risen Redeemer Full Gospel Church, Nelsonville. She worked for many years as a cook at the Athens Mental Health Center and the T.B. Hospital in Nelsonville.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Bonnie Jean Pavlik) Stright of Amesville; four grandchildren, Michael Stright of Amesville, Gary Stright of Berwyn, Pa., Sheri Harvey of Chesterhill and Becky Singree of Chesterhill; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gene Kesterson of Gloucester,Mass., David Rayner Hamilton of Grove City and Jerry Rayner of Lancaster; four sisters, Helen Hughes of Utica, Sally Hysell of Newark, Marie Roberts of Urbana and Betty Lou Rayner Hamilton of Grove City; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Kesterson and Martha Hamilton, and two brothers, Leonard "Dick" and Elmer "Tug" Kesterson. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with Pastor John Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Hocking County.
She is survived by her brother, Harold (Mary) Kesterson of Glouster, Mass., niece, Shirley (Val) Jackson of Newark, nephews, Stanley (Judy) Hysell, Tom Hysell, Earl (Sherrel) Hysell, all of Newark, and Art (Carol) Hysell of Utica. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hughes, who died May 25, 1987; brother, Leonard Kesterson; and sisters, Opal Arnold, Pauline Waters and Lillian Hysell. Friends may call Friday, Oct. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

UTICA — A funeral service for Helen H. Hughes, 86, of Utica, formerly of Columbus, will be Saturday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m., at Law-Baker Funeral Home, with Ric Harvel officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery, Shawnee. Helen, died Oct. 19, 2005, at Country Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon. She was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Nelsonville to Charles H. and Anna Mae (Hartsock) Kesterson.
