Miss Iowa City 1964
A DesMoines freshman at the University of Iowa, Beth Kesterson, 18, is the new
Miss Iowa City.
She was selected among 12 finalists at the annual contest sponsered by the Iowa City
Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Miss Kesterson, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority will compete with local
winners in the Miss Iowa contest at Clear Lake this summer.

The 1960 Miss Iowa City will be crowned Saturday night by the reigning Miss Iowa, Jacqueline Baker. Miss Iowa City will be chosen from among 12 finalists at a pageant at 7:30 at City High Auditorium. All finalists are University of Iowa co-eds.
They are Margaret Rossie of Iowa City; Mary Ann Sheshan of Highland Park, IL; Marcia Selland of Fargo ND; Sandra Wilderness of Sioux City; Karen Harris of Marshalltown; Beth Kesterson of DesMoines; Katherine Halpin of Cedar Rapids; Judith Snow of Highland Park IL;
Judith Jansen of Maquoetka; Marlene Yount of Aurora IL; Lana Borin of Oak Park IL and Connie McBurney of DesMoines. Miss Baker of Glasgow Montana is also a university co-ed.
The girls will compete for a $100 scholorship; $100 in cash and a chance to compete for the Miss Iowa Title later this summer. Miss Iowa will then compete in the Miss America contest.
