Bert Berg

Suicide Theory
Villisca (Montgomery Co) - The mystery which shrouds the death of Bert Berg a leading businessman of this city, formerly of Superior Nebraska, where burial took place is as deep as ever. The idea of heart failure has been eleminated and closest freinds cout the suggestion of suicide. It must then, have been an accident.

Mr. Berg was about his business as usual and was in and out of other stores before he started for home. He entered the drug store of J.H. Honeyman and had as often been his habit, Mr. Berg went on behind the perscription case. Mr. Honeyman was busy at the front of the store with a customer and merely passed the time of day with Mr. Berg, who was in the store but a short time. As Mr. Berg joined his wife and son a few minutes later to go to a hotel for supper he was stricken on the street and died about an hour later. The visit to the drug store suggested the idea of suicide, but the most generally accepted theory is that he took a drink of something accidently that caused his death. His business and domestic relations were of the very best and most congenial.

The aged parents of Mrs. Berg, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Kesterson of Superior and Ralph Berg of Omaha, Mrs. W.R. Wilson of Kansas City, Mrs. F.C. Pierson and Miss Evelyn Berg of Sioux City brother and sister of the deceased man were here and accompanied the funeral party to Superior NE
