While Billy Sunday, the famous baseball evangelist, was preaching the word of God in the big tabernacle on the corner of Dock and Magnolia street, G.W. Kesterson, who claims to be a real prophet from Heaven, was addressing a crowd of 300 persons on the corner of Holly and Commercial streets, delivering himself o scornful pharases of the "damnable, religious, fanatical hypocrites," referring to the ministers in the tabernacle as grafters. Yesterday afternoon Kesterson was liberated from the county jail, where he had been placed by the sheriff, pending an investigation into his sanity. County Attorneys Livesey in the morning determined that the man could not be convicted of insanity, and thereupon ordered his release. Kesterson announced before the big crowd that he would preach again at the same place this afternoon at 3 o'clock and again this evening at 7 o'clock. "After Today," the fanatic declared, " I will preach every day until I am so weak that I can talk no more. Then I will walk out of the city. I will follow this railroad track down here and preach the gospel on the way." Kesterson has a clear, steady voice and is highly dramatic in his deliverance.

Do you know why these people over here in the tabernacle want to see me in jail" he screamed. "It is because I have a great big hammer and am continually knocking them and their methods of teaching the word of Jesue Christ." At this point the man leaped down off his drygoods box platform and begun to pound the side of the frail box with his fist. "They had me in the county jail today but they let me out. They had to let me go. If they had tried to keep there an angel from heaven would have come down and unlocked the door." A ripple of amusement ran over the crowd and the preacheer, his eyes flashing, leaped up on his box and shouted: "Laugh - Thats right - Laugh! But you don't have to believe it. Wasn't Peter liberated? You may believe that I am crazy. But I can argue on any business problem or on any religious problem. I am not altogether ignorant. I walked into Dr. Whitman's church in Seattle the other day and began to talk to the people there. The pastor rushed to me and grabbed my arm, saying. "Come here my good man, we want to talk to you. Don't you know that you are disrupting our church. Don't you know that youa re splitting up our congregation?" I laughed at him and when he was through I took the platform and had my turn at talking. Did I tell them anything ? " Well , you can just bet I did."

The crowd was increasing by this time and the fanatic still continued talking. There were policemen there, but no effort was made to stop the show. There were people in the crowd who were becoming deeply interested. The fanatic became abusive at one time in talking of the modern method of preaching the gospel. "Did Jesue Christ or any of the apostles ever stand at a grave and preach a funeral service over the body of a dead man or woman?" "NO" Did any of the apostles ever preach a funeral service and then go around to the surviving relatives a few days later, holding a hand out behind the back and receive money? Why do these preachers deliver funeral adresses Why do they preach the word of God over a grave of a man or woman? Nothing - but graft. These ministers over here, the fanatic said, waving his hand in a disdainful way in the direction of the tabernacle, are working for money. They grab onto a piece of real estate and hold on tight in order not to lose it, and all the time they are trying to get more. God never meant that we should try ot hold onto our pocketbooks with one hand and with the other try to hold onto heaven. We must give up everything for religion. They can put me into jail and beat me until the blood runs down my heels, but the next day I will come before you again, bare my bloody back and show you the marks there. I am here to preach the gospel of Jesur Christ and I am willing to die for him.
