Regina Mae (Hutchens) Kesterson, 101, widow of Cecil Emory Kesterson, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Blue Ridge Christian Home, Raphine. She was born August 6, 1906 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late John E. and Lelia Mae (Robertson) Hutchens. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Kesterson was employed by White's Truck Stop with 17 years of service. She was a weather watcher for WHSV TV-3 for a number of years and was known to many as Aunt Regina. She was the oldest member of Old Providence ARP Church, where she taught Sunday school for 70 years. In addition to her husband to whom she married on July 1, 1948, and preceded her in death on July 23, 1987, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, J. Lloyd Hutchens, J. Preston Hutchens, Fred R. Hutchens, and Brent E. Hutchens; and a sister, Ruby Hutchens Chittum. Family members include a sister, Erline H. Richie of Raphine; and a number of nieces and nephews.
