Died - Uncle John Coats, with paralysis, on the 9th of April, after an illness of five years. He was a devoted christian. He leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn their loss.

Weep not for those whom the veil of the tomb,
In life's evening hath hid from our eyes;
For our beloved friend sleeps with Jesus, blessed sleep,
From which none ever wake to weep.

John Henry Coats was born in Bedford County TN, 25 October 1829 the son of James & Elizabeth (Hart) Coats. He was first married to Melva Ann McKinney with whom he had one child, James C. Coats. He was married the 2nd time to Millie Ruby Douglas about 1864, place unknown. John Henry died 9 April 1901 in Houston, Texas County MO and is buried in Union Cemetery, Piney Twp. Texas County Mo.

Matthew D Coats was born the 3rd of Apr 1867 in Texas Co MO, the son of John Henry Coats & Millie Douglas. He was first married to Annie Hawkins in Grayson TX on the 7th of February 1891. There were 5 children born to this marriage; Walter Henry, Minnie Lee, Milo, Ernest Leslie and Jessie May. Sometime between 1905 and 1910 they were divorced and Matthew then married Minnie Thompson on the 9th of December 1910. To this marriage there were 7 more children born. They were - Millie Etta, Metta Lee, Jewel Monroe, Geneva Jane, Myrtle Lou and the twins Emma and Imma.

Matthew died on the 20th of November 1937, Minnie following him several years later on April 10, 1948. They are buried together at the Boggy Depot Cemetery in Atoka Co OK.

Obituary - Stuart Richard Gilden husband of Emma Jeanne Coats d/o Mathew Coats
Stuart R. Gilden, a resident of Hugo for the past year, died July 1, 2006. Stuart was born May 16, 1932 in Cleveland Ohio. He moved to New York City when he was 13. Later he graduated from Michigan University with a masters degree in mathematics. He spent one year studying fine art in Europe. Stuart has only one sibling, Lloyd Gilden, born July 6, 1929. His parents were Jerome "Jerry" Gilden and Miriam Greenwald. Jerry Gilden, owned and operated Jerry Gilden Dress Specialties in New York City in the 1940's.

Stuart moved to California in the 1970's and built the Soapman company of Los Angeles, Ventura and Bakersfield. Stuart and Jeanne Meeker were married in 1992. He retired in 1997 due to poor health. They moved to Hugo, Okla. July 1, 2005, and he lived one year to the day, and passed away July 1, 2006. Surviving relatives included his wife Jeanne Gilden; step daughters Yvonne Rector, Gerri Taylor and Debbie Mason; five stepchildren - Angie Elmore and husband Mark, Jeanne Doss and husband Larry, Channing Corn, Yvette Hill, Charla White and husband Tom; 10 step-great grandchildren and 1 step great-greatgrancchild. Stuart had no children of his own.

(George) Hansird House, 76, died Jan 7 at his home in Rifle, Co. According to his sister Mrs. T. K. Coats of Clara. (1958) The son of John and Martha House, was a Texas County resident in the Oak Grove Community west of Simmons, until about 30 years ago.

He is survived by his wife (Mettie Carolyn Coats), of the home, two sons, Everett of Fairbanks, AK and Wayne of Mountain Home, AR; two daughters, Vivian WATKINS of Meeker, CO and Ruby (Reeves/Allen/Stout) ; and by two sisters, Mrs. COATS and Mrs. Annis HOWELL of Mountain Grove. Funeral services were in Rifle with Burial in the Meeker Cemetery.
