About 1742, three brothers, George, Jacob and Conrad Easterly left Germany for the United States. It seems that the name was spelled Oesterlen. Papers were signed for entry Sept. 30, 1743. (Foreigners ported in the Rober and Alice, Hartly Gussack, Commander, sailed from Rotterdale and later from Cowes.) On list names George, Christoff and Conrad. George died single a short time after entry. Jacob settled in Pennsylvania. Records show some of his descendants moved into Ohio and later into Iowa. Conrad married and settle din Shenandoah or Rockingham, Va. He had two daughters and a son, George. One daughter married a man by the name of Nease, the other married a Rinehart.

George Easterly was born May 4, 1749. He married Mary Harpine. They had seven boys and four girls. All the family move dto Greene County, Tenn., settling in October 1796 on the south side of the Nolichuky River, some 18 miles south west of Greeneville, Tenn., and there entered five or six hundred acres which was afterward divided among his sons. George's wife died sometime after 1800. He then married the widow Neace, but there were no children. His widow lived some years afterward but her death date is unknown.
