A 20 year old Huntington County man became the first traffic victim of 1983 when he died in a car-truck crash late Saturday aafternoon at the intersection of Ind-9 and CR900N.
Dead at the scene was Keith R Dolby, son of Mr and Mrs. Robert Dolby, 1376E 900N.
Three occupants of the other vehicle were treated at Huntington Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and later released.
Injured were Jay W Huebner, 26 Lot 7, Parrott Trailer Court, contusions to the head; his wife, Lisa 20, abrasions to the upper arm, and Matthew Ley 20, also of the Parrot Trailer Court, abrasions about the head. A fourth passenger in the Huebner vehicle - three year old Sean Hile - was uninjured.
Investigating officers said the accident occured when Dolby, who was westbound on CR900N, failed to stop for the stopsign at Ind. 9 and was hit broadside by the Huebner vehicle which was traveling south on the state highway. Officers said Dolby who lived about a mile from the scene apparently had left his home just before the fatal accident.
Investigating were County Policeman, Rod Jackson, Captain LeMoine Drabenstot and Indiana State Tropper Don King and Terry Sutton.
