Wedding of Edythe Jedlicka and Frank Sander - June 11, 1939 Wedding bells rang at St. Fidelis Church, College Point on June 11, 1939 for Edythe Jedlicka and Frank Sander. Frank Sander was the third son of Sophie Reichert and Michael Sander, born in Glogovat, Hungary. Edythe Jedlicka , a College Point young woman, was the daughter of Louise Holeck and Frank Jedlicka. The bride wore a white silk organza gown and carried a bouquet of white roses streaming with fern and white satin ribbons. The bridesmaids, Sophie Sander, sister of the groom, and Blanche Jedlicka, sister of the bride, wore rose taffeta gowns, straw picture hats and carried bouquets of roses and baby's breath. The wedding celebration took place at Hegler's in College Point where the bridal party and their guests danced to the song of the year - "Roll Out The Barrels". A wonderful time was had by all! Following the wedding, Edythe Jedlicka and Frank Sander took an apartment in Flushing where their first daughter, Barbara, was born. Later they moved to College Point where their twin son and daughter, Michael and Susan were born. They were married 47 years and had three children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Wedding of Margaret Schulde and Matthew Sander St. Fidelis Church, College Point, New York April 19, 1941 Left to right: Frank Sander, Paul Sander, cousin of the Bride, brother of the Bride, Margaret Schulde, Matthew Sander, Sophie Sander, George Sander, cousin of the Bride, and Wendee Schlee. George, Paul and Frank, brothers of Matthew, were born in Glogovat. Matthew Sander was born in College Point, NY to Sophie Reichert and Michael Sander. Three children were born in College Point, a set of twin sons and a daughter. Only one of the twins survived. He was named for his grandfather, Michael and is known as Mickey. The daughter was named Marlene. This Sander family moved to Florida some time in the 1950's.
