Paul Reichert was born in Glogowatz in 1898 to Ferencs Reichert and Magdalena Dumele. Ferencs Reichert, son of Paulus Reichert and Evae Hettman and Magdalena Dumele, daughter of Francisci Dumele and Rosalie Straub, were married on May 12, 1891. Ferencs and Magdalena had eight children. Only two of their children survived to adulthood, Paul and Magdalena.
Magdalena Reichert (my grandmother's cousin) married Paul Schlee and raised three children, Vendilinus, Paul and Catherine in College Point, NY. At the age of 16, Paul Reichert came to College Point with his father, Ferencs. Sponsored by Sofia Reichert and Michael Szander, they sailed on the George Washington arriving January 27, 1914. Some time later, Paul married Helen Schneider and lived in College Point.
